Sofya Vardanyan, violin
Please join us in welcoming the renowned Yerevan-born violinist, Sofya Vardanyan, who will perform with the Boston Pops Orchestra under the baton of conductor Keith Lockhart. In a BSO season dedicated to “E Pluribus Unum: From Many, One,” and in tribute to both our Armenian heritage and America’s 250th anniversary, Vardanyan will perform Ode to Freedom, composed by the Somerville-born, illustrious composer Alan Hovhaness, and other selected works. The genre-blending, cross-over ensemble Pink Martini also returns to Symphony Hall that evening. Known for their diverse genres and multi-lingual songs, the performances will transport listeners around the world. Finally, we are particularly pleased to note that this season also celebrates the 125th anniversary of Symphony Hall and the 74th year of Armenian Night at the Pops.
* Tickets can only be purchased from the BSO, and can be mailed or held at the Box Office.
In addition to purchasing tickets, we hope that you will consider making a donation to help support FACS in presenting and sponsoring talented Armenian artists, enabling it to spread awareness of young Armenian musicians and our rich Armenian musical heritage.
