F A C S - L I B R E T T O
A publication of Friends of Armenian Culture Society, Inc.
The newsletter was founded by Robert Avakian on behalf of FACS, acting as the Communications Director, in 1994, following the discontinuance of the FACS radio program on WCRB. One of the early imperatives was to promote the fundraising agenda of the Tanglewood Endowment Fund - which established a Fellowship, in perpetuity, for musicians of Armenian descent at Tanglewood.
The newsletter also grew out of a need to disseminate the events and new functions of FACS as it developed new agendas, scholarships and honorary programs. It has served as an integral communications tool that has gained a reputation for high journalistic standards. The technical side of the newsletter and web site have been competently developed by Vahe Mirzabegian and Associate Board member, Garen Gregorian.
